Misti Galvan is a Yoga Teacher (500 RYT), dance artist and educator living in San Marcos, TX. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in choreography and has undergraduate degrees in Dance and English from Texas State University. Although she has a classical background, her current artistic research interests are focused on ecological and environmental concerns, improvisation, site-specific dance making, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Yoga informs all these interests and continues to be her mainstay in movement studies. She currently teaches Yoga, Ballet, and Modern Dance at TX State and partnered with Becky Jordan to implement the Yoga Teacher Training Program now in its second year in the dance division. Very passionate about the body-mind connection and holistic approaches to life and art, she most often teaches from a somatic point of view that nudges her students to discover new things. Misti also enjoys teaching special populations, such as those dealing with chronic pain or other special circumstances.
